In Thursday's story about the region's unsuccessful bid for a National Hockey League franchise, a comment was attributed to the wrong person. This quote, which appeared at the end of the story, should have been attributed to Tom Ward, who led the Rhinos' season-ticket and luxury-suite sales, and not to Norfolk Mayor Paul D. Fraim: ``Before I do anything else, I think I'll have a good cry and drink a few beers. This hurts, this really hurts.''
A promotion on this page in Wednesday's paper gave a wrong day for the International Weight Pull Association event in Gates, N.C. The dog weight pull is on Sunday. Also, the event is the second, not the first, such competition in North Carolina. Information in Thursday's Daily Break story was correct.
Suffolk's city attorney reports directly to the City Council, not to the city manager. A Metro News story on constitutional officers had an error.
The Virginia Senate voted 30-8 Wednesday to make ``Carry Me Back to Old Virginia'' the state song emeritus. A headline in the General Assembly digest on Thursday incorrectly stated the vote.
