SWAMP WILDLIFE REFUGE TO BE TOPIC OF PROTEST

A hunters group protesting the management of the Great Dismal Swamp Wildlife Refuge will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Simonsdale Civic Center.

The group, led by Bass Hunt Club of Suffolk, has been circulating a petition for months, hoping to persuade officials to expand the number of days hunting is allowed in the refuge and to make the area more accessible to the public.

The Simonsdale Civic Center is located at 5006 Vick St., off City Park Avenue.
