Mrs. Nerea Bernadine Carpenter Insinna, 81, of the 5500 block of Town Point Road died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Insinna was a native of Coryville, N.Y., and a homemaker. She was the oldest child of the late Charles Garfield Carpenter and Eva Mae Rounsville Carpenter and the widow of John S. Insinna.
Mrs. Insinna is survived by her daughter, Dr. Stonsa Insinna Fox of Portsmouth; son-in-law, Francis R. Fox of Portsmouth; grandson, Zachary Fox of Des Moines, Iowa; seven sisters, Frances Martens of Bakersfield, Calif., Anna Nicholson of Buffalo, N.Y., Ruth Hibbard of Olean, N.Y., Doris Shott of Cape Coral, Fla., Calista Dutton of Allegany, N.Y., Anita Warfle of Smethport, Pa., Rae Denning of Middleport, N.Y.; two brothers, Wesley Carpenter of Dillsburg, Pa., and Charles Carpenter of Port Deposit, Md. Mrs. Insinna was predeceased by her sister, Ruby Carpenter.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorials may be a tree planted in memory of Mrs. Insinna. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Tidewater Office, is in charge.
