SARA W. HALSTEAD

Sara W. Halstead, 83, of Westminster-Canterbury in the 3100 block of Shore Drive, died Feb. 21, 1997, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.

She retired from E. Caligari and Son in 1968. A Norfolk native and the widow of Percy D. Halstead, Mrs. Halstead was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, and a member of the Friday Group. She also did volunteer work with the Saint Mary's Infant Home.

Survivors include six nephews, Dr. Charles R. Wright of Norfolk, William Nick Wright of Virginia Beach, Walter R. Wright of Virginia Beach, Carlton R. Wright of Jupiter, Fla., Dr. J. Milton Miller of Roanoke, Va., and James W. Warden of New Jersey; two nieces, Mary Lou Miller Moore of Roanoke, Va., Margaret Miller Nelson of Lynchburg, Va.; numerous great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-great-niece.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in All Saints Episcopal Church by the Rev. Stanley W. Sawyer. Burial will be private. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church, 1968 Woodside Lane, Virginia Beach, Va. 23454.
