GLADYS M. ROWLAND

Gladys Mills Rowland, 94, of the 3000 block of Bray Road died Feb. 21, 1997.

A retired civil service employee at Little Creek Amphibious Base, she was a native of Princess Anne County and the widow of George A. Rowland. She was an elder and charter member of King's Grant Presbyterian Church. She was past worthy matron of Virginia Beach Chapter No. 75, Order of the the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris P. Ellis of Virginia Beach and Jean C. Herren of Odessa, Fla.; sister, Frances M. Ewell of Virginia Beach; three grandsons, Keith P. Ellis of Virginia Beach, Charles C. Ellis of Spokane, Wash., and Wayne Coffield of Tampa, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in King's Grant Presbyterian Church by Dr. Brian K. Dill. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of King's Grant Presbyterian Church, 745 Little Creek Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be accorded at the church.
