George Claiborne Manson III, 44, died Feb. 21, 1997, in his residence.
Mr. Manson was a native of Virginia Beach. He attended First Colonial High School and was a graduate of James Madison University, class of 1977. Mr. Manson was retired from the City of Virginia Beach. He was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. Mr. Manson was an active manager and coach with Little League baseball and a member of the Virginia Beach Shag Club.
Survivors include his mother and father, George C. Manson Jr. and Margaret L. Manson; two sisters, Joan M. Baird and her husband, Stephen L. Baird, Jane M. Peek and her husband Lewis E. Peek; two nieces, Stephanie L. Baird, April T. Peek; and one nephew, Jarrett L. Baird, all of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery by Dr. Paul C. Bailey. The family will receive friend in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, today 7 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad or charity of choice.
