The Rev. Willis Washington Sykes of the 1200 block of Reservoir Ave. died Feb. 20, 1997, in Beaufort County Hospital.
A retired civil service forklift driver for the U.S Government, he was a Norfolk County native and a member of United Holiness Church of America.
Survivors include six daughters, Dorothy Kellam, Pearline Watson, Lucille Selby, Thelma Wilson, Selma Savage and Delores Sykes, all of Norfolk; son, Willie Sykes of Richmond; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in St. Andrew Temple by the Rev. Lauretta Jones. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The family will assemble at 2821 Villa Circle for the processional at 11 a.m. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
