Scott Michael Merritt, 20, of the 4300 block of Smokey Lake Drive, died March 26, 1997.
He was born in Providence, R.I.
Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Merritt of Virginia Beach; mother, Doreen M. Lea of Virginia Beach, and stepfather, Jimmie Lea of Virginia Beach, and father, Austin Merritt of Norfolk; three brothers, Johnny Joseph Merritt, Shawn Michael Merritt, Dustin Edmond Merritt, all of Virginia Beach; two stepbrothers, Jonathan Downs and Richard Downs, both of Norfolk; an uncle, Thomas Mooney of Norfolk; aunt, Elaine Rudy of Virginia Beach; and a niece, Shauna Marie Merritt.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. James Jenkins. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
