Comet Hale-Bopp sinks toward the horizon as headlights from vehicles

crossing the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge leave streaks in this

30-second time exposure. Blinking lights from aircraft, too, leave

speckled streaks in the night sky over the Outer Banks.
