BED MAKES BAD COVER FOR BURGLAR

When police responded last month to an emergency call of a burglary in progress, they were hoping to catch the culprit in the act.

When police arrived at the home in the 200 block of Portsmouth Blvd., they figured the would-be burglar would pick a covert hiding place.

Larry Donell Walton did. He hid under a bed.

And he might have escaped police detection except for one thing: His feet were sticking out.

Walton, 28, of the 100 block of Dale Drive, was arrested and charged with burglary and attempted grand larceny. KEYWORDS: ROBBERIES ARREST
