Last season, off to their worst start in 25 years, the Cincinnati Reds ordered radio announcer - and Portsmouth native - Marty Brennaman to remove his Elvis memorabilia from the broadcast booth - on the theory it would change their luck. This season, off to their worst start in FORTY-SEVEN years, they begged Brennaman to bring back Elvis. He did, decorating the booth with two Elvis busts, a framed Elvis photograph, an Elvis wall hanging and an Elvis painting on black velvet. Since then, the 16-31 Reds have won two in a row. Go figure. Blah-blah. blah-blah
Boxing promoter Bob Arum says he will meet with Sweetpea Whitaker's co-manager Shelley Finkel on Tuesday in New York to discuss a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya for NEXT spring. No rush, Bobtail, we're still waiting on the Whitaker-Chavez sequel.
