RICHARD B. SMITH

Richard Brooks Smith, 47, of Frisco, N.C., and formerly of Suffolk, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.

He was a clerk for the Dare County ABC Board and a member of Westhaven Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam.

Mr. Smith is survived by his parents, Edward and Jean Smith of Suffolk; two brothers, Al Smith of Suffolk and Brian Smith of Virginia Beach; a sister, Donnie Hurt of Sequin, Texas; a niece, Roxann Smith; and two nephews, Michael Smith and Bobby Smith.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
