Jack Richard Stout, 74, of Hickory Hill Blvd. died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Albemarle Hospital.
Born in Huntington, W.Va., he was a veteran, having retired as a U.S. Navy chief petty officer after 20 years of service; he also retired from Talbot & Associates, was a member of American Legion Post (NU)338, Coinjock, N.C., and was a member and trustee of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
Mr. Stout was the son of the late Alfred and Lena Nelson Stout and the husband of Eunice Mitchell Stout of the home. Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Jack S. and James R. Stout, both of Moyock, N.C; a sister, Peggy Michel of Huntington, W.Va.; a half-sister, June Hill of Florida; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a stepmother, Margaret Stout of Merritt Island, Fla.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel; at other times the family will receive friends at the residence. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenn McCraney officiating, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Tarkenton.
