Living legend Bob Dylan will headline an Aug. 22 concert at the GTE Virginia Beach Amphitheater. It's his first performance in Hampton Roads since a November 1994 show at Norfolk's Chrysler Hall.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12.75 to $29.75 plus parking and service charges; the sale date will be announced. Opening are singer Ani DiFranco and country-rockers BR5-49.
Dylan recently had to cancel a series of concerts in Europe when he was hospitalized for a life-threatening lung infection. His Virginia Beach performance comes after an Aug. 2 concert at the amphitheater featuring the Wallflowers, the critically acclaimed band fronted by his son, Jakob.
