Louis F. Vander-Haeghe, 67, of the 5300 block of Club Head Road, died Sept. 2, 1997, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vera; sons, Martin Louis Vander-Haeghe of Virginia Beach and David Louis Vander-Haeghe of Spotsylvania, Va. and their wives, Bethany and Connie Vander-Haeghe; four grandchildren, Nicole, David Lee, Leigh and Sarah Vander-Haeghe; sisters, Simone Guite and husband, Paul of Arlington, Va. and Huguette Callaway of Chicago; numerous nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Born in Bruge, Belgium, he became a naturalized citizen in bicentennial year 1976. He was the proprietor of Louis Foreign Car Service for 27 years and retired it to his son, Martin in 1993. An avid member of Amateur Ballroom Dance Association, Louis and his wife, Vera competed in over 55 competitions on the East Coast from Washington, D.C. to Florida. He was a member of Moose Lodge (NU)39 and served as dance chairman. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him for he touched everyone's heart.
Viewing will be held at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. A chapel service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
