Douglas C. Johnson, 45, of the 2500 block of Wild Horse Ridge, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Marshall, Minn. He was the son of Gilbert and Ardis Johnson of Marshall and husband of Frances Clark Johnson. He was branch manager of First Bancorp Mortgage Corp. in Virginia Beach and was a retired lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, having served in the Vietnam War.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Sara H. Johnson of Newport News and Bridget N. Johnson of Hendersonville, N.C.; a son, Jeremy W. Johnson of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Betty Rolland of Apache Junction, Ariz., Joyce Kopel of Shakopee, Minn., Barbara Able of Marshall and Donna Hanson of Minnesota.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by U.S. Navy Cmdr. B.L. Kingwood. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will begin Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
