LEROY TURNER SR.

Leroy Turner Sr., 72, of Route 4, died Sept. 29, 1997.

Born in Bertie County, N.C., he retired as lead lineman for the N.C. Power Co. after 33 years. Mr. Turner was a member of Ahoskie Free Will Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma (Billie) Willoughby Turner; three daughters, Shyrel Pittman, Kathy Lassiter, both of Ahoskie, Averi Askew of Washington, N.C.; a son, Leroy Turner Jr. of High Point, N.C.; a sister, Murrell Holloman of Ahoskie; two brothers, Bobby Turner and Al Benton Turner, both of Colerain, N.C; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. David Harper and the Rev. Robert May. Burial will in Highland Memorial Gardens. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
