JOHN K. MENDOZA

John Kenny Mendoza, 33, of the 300 block of Twilley St., died Sunday Oct. 5, 1997, in his home.

Mr. Mendoza was born in Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, Fla., and was a 32-year resident of Norfolk. Known to his family and friends as ``JK,'' he graduated from Granby High School, attended Norfolk State University and worked as a mechanic and warehouse manager for Brauner Equipment Co. Inc. in Norfolk.

Survivors include his parents, George and Fe Mendoza; his godparents, Carlos and Ping Soltes; three brothers, Greg, Joy and Ivan; three sisters, Psyche, Maisie and Lyddy; three nephews, Giovanni, Zachary and Harley; and a niece, Kirsten.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home and at their home following the burial. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
