Henry Eller Perrot, beloved husband, father, Grandy, brother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 14, 1997.
He was born to Margaret Eller Perrot and George Erle Perrot on Dec. 11, 1930, in Portsmouth. Hank's love for life and keen sense of humor brought joy to those around him. He always had a smile and a joke to share. He was a fun-loving, caring, strong, hard-working family man. His devotion to family brought strength and stability to his loved ones. He was dedicated to his community, as demonstrated by his service as past president of the Crawford Lions Club, Manteo, N.C.; Lion of the Year Award 1996-1997; distinguished service award from the Currituck County Board of Education; and a Big Brother to Charlie. Hank, formerly of Currituck County, N.C., served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952, retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. and founded Kitchen Design and Appliance Center in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. He was a Catholic.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, George Erle Perrot, Jr.; and his son, Robert Henry Perrot. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Melva W. Perrot of Chesapeake; children, Cathy Faulkner and husband, Donnie, of Virginia Beach, Cheryl Richardson and husband, Russell, of Barco, N.C., Susan Kimsey and husband, Eddie, of Kill Devil Hills, Janie Slade and husband, Leo, of Suffolk, and Steve Perrot and wife, Diane, of Chesapeake; sisters, Margaret Conaway of Virginia Beach, Katherine Simmons of Melbourne, Fla., Elizabeth Kerecman of Orem, Utah, and Sister Jane Marie Perrot, Daughters of Charity, of Emmitsburg, Md.; twin brother, William A. Perrot of Wake Forest, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and friends.

A prayer service and viewing will be held at 4 p.m. today in Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
