LaTanya L. ``Tonya'' Jasper, of the 5400 block of Beckner St. died Nov. 24, 1997, in her residence.
Born in Madison, W.Va., she was a member of New Horizon Outreach Church of God in Christ and a volunteer for many church and AIDS-related ministries. She was a secretary for the City of Norfolk's health department.
Survivors include her husband, Spencer Jasper; a daughter, Miss TaShema Taitano of Norfolk; two sons, Gregory Akinson of Norfolk, Antonio Taitano of Temple Hills, Md.; mother, Mrs. Eunice Bullock Butcher; two sisters, Miss Kim Butcher, Mrs. Gale Parham of Norfolk; three brothers, Dana Butcher, Gary Butcher, James Butcher, of Norfolk; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, James Lawrence Butcher and grandparents, Mattie and Oscar Bullock.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Saint Mark R.Z.U.A. Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. James E. Faulks. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. A wake will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chatman Funeral Home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
