Christiansburg police are trying to find out what led to the murder of an 87
year old woman.
A handy-man who police say, worked at her house, has been charged with the
United Mine Workers President Cecil Roberts escaped serious injury today
when the plane he was riding in ran off a runway and crashed.
And the passenger of another plane says he was just making a joke... but it
caused an emergency landing in Ohio.

A 51-year-old handy man is in jail tonight charged with the murder of an
elderly Christiansburg woman.
Police found 87-year-old Anna Virginia Lester's body yesterday in her
Radford Street home.
They're not releasing the cause of her death but investigators say there
were cuts and bruises on her body.
James Reed is being charged with the crime.

Hundreds of former N & W employees came to the Virginia Museum of

The battle between a volcanoe and a glacier in Iceland continues producing
The eruptions have created a deep canyon in the glacier.
The ice walls are more than 300 feet high.
The floor of the canyon is a cauldron of water, volcanic ash and ice.
The canyon runs almost 2 miles.
Observers say the force of the eruptions is declining, but they still don't
know when the volcano will run out of steam.
