It's down to the jury instructions in the O.J. Simpson civil case--

Good evening, this is News 7 at FIVE, I'm Connie Stevens.
Closing arguments ended this afternoon, with a plaintiff's lawyer
ridiculing defense claims that evidence in the case was contaminated.
The jury is set to receive instructions in the case-- after returning from
a lunch recess.
Before the trial resumed today, there was an unexplained two-hour delay,
and two jurors were taken to a separate, empty courtroom.
Neither was dismissed.
The Associated Press has found one explanation-- a source says some jurors
were contacted by a so-called "agent" offering to represent them after the
trial, for medial deals.
According to the source, the jurors brought the matter to the judge's
The parents' rights amendment to the Virginia Constitution has been defeated

The controversial measure went down on a 21 to 19 vote this afternoon.

Does this mean this legislation is dead for the year?
Because this is one of those issues that stirs such heated rhetoric
and such inflammatory campaign ads in the fall, that seldom do politicians
reverse themselves on one.
