An accident on Route 24 in Bedford leaves a family of four injured.
A pick up truck ran into the back of a sedan sending two adults and two
children to the hospital.
Three are believed to be in critical condition.
Life Guard 10 transported the family to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
The names of the victims have not been released, and the condition of the
driver of the pick-up truck is not known.
A one car accident in Montgomery County today claims the life of a
Police say Monica Ruth Stevens of Troutville was speeding on Alleghany
Springs Road when she lost control of her car.
The 18-year old ran off the right side of the road then overcorrected and
veered off the left side of the road.
The Cadillac she was driving hit a tree and the car overturned.
Stevens died at the scene.
A 10 year old Danville boy is in serious condition after he was shot several
times last night.
It happened around 9-15 yesterday evening.

Investigators have not confirmed the motive for the shooting.

The body of a missing 10-year-old California boy has been found.
A park ranger found the body of Anthony Michael Martinez yesterday in a
remote California desert.
He was partially buried, his hands and feet bound with tape.
The burial site is 70 miles from his Beaumont, California home, where he was

The appetite of the red river seems unending. Overnight it consumed even more
of grand forks and is still on the rise. More than 75-percent of the town is
under a mandatory evacuation. The town's mayor lost her home this morning.

Some Virginia Tech students were out pounding the pavement today in support
of Leonard Peltier--a Native American prisoner.
Peltier is serving two life sentences for the 1975 murder of two government
agents in South Dakota.
But, some consider him to be a political prisoner.
Today, the Native American Program, a student organization at Virginia Tech,
held a rally and march through part of Blacksburg.
The group is hoping the event will spark a flood of letters to the President
demanding that Peltier be pardoned.
When it comes to finding a job, WHO you know is as important as WHAT you
know, as some Roanoke students found out.
More than 300 high school seniors came out with resumes in hand to the
annual Roanoke Area Job Opportunities Convention.

Miami quarterback Bernie Kosar announced his retirement from the N-F-L
The 33-year old Kosar says he's giving up the game because he can't give all
his attention to football anymore.
Kosar played for 12 years and although he was a free agent he was expected
to resign with the Dolphins.
Kosar retires as the third lowest career interception percentage of all time.
