It was a heated argument that turned violent.
That's one account of what happened the morning of August 31st, when one man
was killed and another wounded inside a Blacksburg night spot.

Teresa Hamilton was in court this morning for the suspects' preliminary

Restaurant, when Bullard, got into a verbal argument with three men: Leon

Shoemaker was shot once in the back--- he says he couldn't identify which
twin fired the gun.

museum in downtown Lynchburg.
Architects today unveiled plans for the museum's exhibits.

Today the American Cancer Society kicks off its month-long Great American
This year the organization warns about cigars.
The Cancer Society says even though cigar smoke is rarely inhaled, it
carries the same carcinogens and cancer-producing chemicals as cigarettes.
Anti-smoking messages are appealing to all ages.

In Danville, where the golden leaf feeds the local economy, the hospital
there held a drive-thru smokeout.
Drivers pulled right up to Danville Regional Medical Center to sign pledges
to stay smoke free for a day.
The Hospital offered free survival kits, coffee and donuts to help them
kick the habit.
Other smokers tested their lung capacity.
Ellen Pruitt, just had heart surgery, she's trying to quit smoking.
