Fire and smoke force patients and workers to evacuate Community Hospital in Roanoke.
No one was injured but, a large section of Carilion Community Hospital is in the dark tonight following the late afternoon fire in the boiler room.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, so that means hospital officials are in the dark in more ways than one.
[Double Boxes=Jean/David Microwave]
David Johnson is at Community with the latest.
Jean, things haven't been quite the same since the power was turned off to put out the fire.
The power hasn't been turned back on because it was the generator that caught fire.

The fire began in a boiler room on the ground floor of the east wing.
Before the smoke could make its way through the hospital, officials had evacuated the first and second floor.
Smoke rose from the ground level up to the tenth floor.
Where the blaze started is what caused problems for firefighters from the start.
[IN Q=WHAT WAS DIFFICULT]

Once A-E-P cut off the power, the fire was quickly extinguished.
