Tacoma Wins Membership Contest
By getting 80 new members, while losing only 19 of the 1964 members, Tacoma Chapter boosted its membership to 158, an increase of 62.9% over the previous year. This will bring the Chapter $100 worth of rhododendron plants. Princeton Chapter had a net increase of 44.4% and the Indianapolis Chapter increased 40.0%. Unfortunately some Chapters showed net losses although usually small. The net gain for the Society as a whole, as of July 1, was 4.4%. Getting 80 new members is not particularly easy. Someone must have worked hard. Congratulations to the Tacoma Chapter and all who had a part in its excellent growth.
