Greig Rhododendrons Going to City of Vancouver

We have recently received an announcement from Ted and Mary Greig that they are no longer doing business as Royston Nursery, Royston, Vancouver Island, B.C. They have sold their stock of rhododendron plants to the City of Vancouver Parks Board where they will be under the supervision of Mr. Alleyne Cook.
We understand that the collection includes some 331 different species and 91 varieties totaling a little over 10,000 plants. They will be shifted to Vancouver over a period of eighteen months and planted in three locations. Locations will be near Stanley Park near sea level, on the north slope of Queen Elizabeth Park, and in the park used by the Rhododendron Chapter as a Test Garden.
The many friends of the Greig's will be sorry to see them out of the nursery business but it is a wonderful thing that the collection will not be completely broken up and dissipated.
In their announcement the Greigs state that they will still be in Royston and will be pleased to chat about rhododendrons with anyone interested.
