The photograph was taken June 2, 2003, at Milde Arboretum, Bergen, Norway, during the Nordic Rhododendron Meeting. Milde is probably the mildest growing area in Scandinavia for rhododendrons. Average rainfall is 3500mm (140 inches) a year. Photo by Jens Birck |
