Editorial Policy

Landscape influences the creative process. Nantahala seeks submissions of poetry, fiction, essays, and photography that originate from or pertain to the Appalachian region. Funded by the Appalachian College Association, a consortium of 33 colleges in North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee, this online journal emphasizes creative achievements by students, faculty, and staff of
those colleges as well as work by other artists in some way connected to these mountains.

We offer to an ever-increasing web-based audience new and innovative writing and photography that look beyond regional stereotypes.
