Mark Roberts directs the Writing Center at Virginia
Intermont College. His
poetry has been published in many journals
including Pennine Ink
(UK), The Pointed Circle,
Thin Air, Ellipsis: Literature and
Art,
The Distillery,
New Growth Arts Review,
Grasslands Review, Gray Matter
Tapestry, The Asheville
Poetry Review and other small
journals. In 1995, two of his poems were
anthologized in Southern Voices in
Every Direction: An Anthology
of Southern Writers, a Bellbuckle Press
publication (now Iris Press). In
1998, his poem “Letter from Foothills,”
received an Honorable Mention from the
Now & Then Appalachian Poetry
Contest, judged by Fred Chappell.
His writing, both poetry and critical
reviews, frequently appears in Oyster
Boy Review, a journal Writer’s
Digest recently hailed
as one of the best print and online literary
journals in America.
He makes his home in Bristol, Virginia
with his wife and four children.
