Candidates' forum scheduled

Candidates for Virginia Senate, Madison Mayre and Pat Cupp, and House of Delegates, James Shuler and Larry Linkous, will discuss key issues affecting higher education and Virginia Tech at a candidates' forum.
The forum, sponsored by the Virginia Tech Faculty Senate, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the front auditorium of the Donaldson Brown Hotel and Conference Center.
Candidates will present their positions on key issues such as higher-education funding in Virginia, the role of higher education in economic development, and the special role Virginia Tech plays in Virginia's higher-education system. Candidates also will respond to questions posed by the audience. Everyone is invited to attend.
