MARGARET M. BEAN

Mrs. Margaret Odelean Miller Bean, 75, of Oakmont West Nursing Center, Greenville, S.C., and formerly of the Thomasville area, died Sunday evening, Feb. 23, 1997, in the nursing center.

She was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Davidson County, daughter of the late Venice Oliver Miller and Retta Davis Miller. Mrs. Bean was a retired employee with Dow Chemical in Williamsburg and was a member of Cid United Methodist Church, Silver Valley, N.C. She was married Dec. 24, 1936, to William Henry Bean Jr., who preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Tony (Dianne Dee) Moore of Piedmont, S.C.; a son, Jerry Bean of Hampton; four grandchildren, Kathleen Marlatt, Michelle James, Bonnie Boileau and Tony Moore Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Phillip Jordan, Daniel Marlatt, Samantha Margaret Marlatt and Julie James.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Chip Webb. Interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to Cid United Methodist Church, c/o Ronald Cross, 482 John Wright Road, Lexington, N.C. 27292.
