HEAD OF GROUP FOR WOMEN IN BOSNIA TO SPEAK HERE

The founder of an organization that provides support for women who survived the genocide in the former Yugoslavia will speak Thursday evening at Virginia Wesleyan College.

Zainab Salbi, founder and president of Women for Women in Bosnia, will discuss her work with women from the war-torn region at 7 p.m. in the Shafer Room of Boyd Dining Center. The program is free and open to the public.

Women for Women was formed in response to the Serbian war strategy of rape and ethnic cleansing. The organization has delivered more than $250,000 in aid to more than 1,000 women who were brutalized and forced to flee their homes.
