MILDRED T. PARKER

Mildred Thomas Parker died Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Southern Regional Medical Center. She was born July 17, 1920, in Rome, Ga. She was 76 years old.

Mrs. Parker was a longtime member of United Methodist Church in Forest Park. She taught Sunday School for more than 25 years. She was a retired collection agent.

Mrs. Parker married her childhood sweetheart, Homer G. Parker, on Jan. 8, 1941. They were married 56 years. Mr. and Mrs. Parker had two wonderful sons, Kenneth Edward of Chesapeake and Clifford Leslie of Greenville, Ga.; and a brother John Griffin Thomas of Henager, Ala. Mrs. ``Memaw,'' as she was known to many, leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as many good and loyal friends.

Mrs. Parker was laid to her final rest Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, at Resthaven Gardens of Memories in Decatur, Ga. The Rev. Frank Norris, pastor of UMC, officiated at the services. Ms. Dot Adams honored the family with the singing of Mrs. Parker's favorite hymns. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
