Irvin Franklin Lewis Sr., 78, of the 3800 block of Columbia St., died Feb. 26, 1997, in his residence.
A native of Accomack County, Va., he was a mechanic for Portsmouth City Schools. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Broda Lewis; a daughter, Joyce Baines of Chesapeake; a son, Irvin F. Lewis Jr. of Chesapeake; four sisters, Lorraine Elliott, Phyllis Riddle, Thelma Chapman, Ethel Lewis, all of Portsmouth; three brothers, Phillip Lewis, Warren Lewis, Vernon Lewis, all of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Brad Baines, Angie Hetherington and Jay Lewis.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Gregory Kitts. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
