ELIZABETH E. CHAPMAN

Elizabeth Elaine (Betty) Chapman, 72, a resident of Heartland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan, in 1986, a stepdaughter, Christine Stupart; a brother, Frank Stuck. She was a graduate of Marion College in Indiana and received her master's degree from Toledo University. She was a missionary to Africa, a teacher in Norfolk for more than 20 years and was author of several books and numerous articles. She was also a member of Victory Baptist Church, Beavercreek.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Margaret Chalmers of Scotland; four sisters, Virginia Caulkins of Toledo, Georgia Lang of Beavercreek, Bonita Becher of Freemont, Ind., Mary Dalton of Beavercreek; a brother, John Stuck of Kendallville, Ind.; two step-grandchildren, Lee and Gillian; special friends, Janie Lawrence, Kathleen Lang; her roommate, Theresa Herman; 12 nieces; eight nephews; five grand-nephews; six grand-nieces; and numerous other friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, by Pastor Bill Keen. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
