JOSEPH WRIGHT

On Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, God called Mr. Joseph Wright of the 800 block of Forest Oak Lane home to be with him. Mr. Wright died in Obici Hosptial, Suffolk.

Mr. Wright was born to the late Addie and John T. Wright and retired from the U.S. Navy and the Naval Shipyard. He leaves to cherish fond memories his beloved wife, Mrs. Helen Deloatch Wright of Suffolk; daughter, Mrs. Mary Bowers of Washington, D.C.; son, Quinton Deloatch of Suffolk; three sisters, Mable Smith of Mobile, Ala., Ella Jonikin and Minnie Hainesworth, both of Portsmouth; brother, John T. Wright Jr. of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Carmalita Bowers, Lonnie Bowers Jr., Tanya Daley and Monique Bowers of Washington, D.C., Paula Fenner of New Jersey, Shawtierra Walters and Shawntae Rogers, both of Suffolk; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and two godchildren, Glennie Rodgers and Leroy Thompson, both of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The remains will be in the church at 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service, which will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary Church of God in Christ. Elder Alexander Cheathan will officiate. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, with full military rites. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
