MAUDE E. LAMBERT

Maude Elaine Lambert, 74, died Feb. 23, 1997, at Bay Pointe Medical and Rehabilitation Centre, Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Lambert was born to Mr. and Mrs. Vain Patterson on May 1, 1922, in Appomattox, Va. She received early education in Appomattox and was a graduate of Norfolk State College (University). She retired on July 1, 1986, from Willard Model School after previously teaching at Diggs Park, Oakwood, Sherwood Forest and Laura E. Titus schools. She was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Lambert Sr.; a son, Melvin Lambert Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Wilson; three sisters, Eula Mae Pierce, Juanita Spriggs and Jacquetta Robinson; six grandchildren, Brian Buford, Dwayne, Jelayne, Aaron, Marina and Sarah Lambert; a daughter-in-law, Susan Lambert; a son-in-law, Maurice Wilson; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Shiloh Baptist Church by the Dr. John H. Foster. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
