William Russell Spivey, 75, of the 300 block of W. Granville St., died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997.
A native of Bertie County, he was a member of Cashie Baptist Church and a farmer. Mr. Spivey was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Allie Waters Spivey; three sons, Russ Spivey of Windsor, Rick Spivey of Greenville and Godwin Spivey of Windsor; and five grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Edgewood Cemetery by the Rev. Dwight Austin. The family will receive friends in their residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910, or to the Bertie County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 74, Windsor, N.C. 27983.
