NORFOLK STATE FALLS TO 2-7 WITH 8-3 BASEBALL LOSS TO VIRGINIA

Virginia first baseman Javier Lopez went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Cavaliers over Norfolk State 8-3.

U.Va. (8-1) took control of the game early with a three-run first inning before Norfolk State (2-7) cut the lead to 3-1 in the second.

John Defere put the Spartans within four in the top half of the seventh on a two-run home run.
