DENSELL H. JOYNES

Densell Healy Joynes, 81, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died Feb. 28, 1997, in a local hospital.

A retired captain of the Norfolk Fire Department, he was a Baptist and master of Goerge W. Wright Masonic Lodge (NU)346, AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife, Madeline L. Joynes; three sons, Ronald Joynes of South Carolina, Stephen Joynes of California, Densel H. Joynes Jr. of Florida; a sister, Betty Murrell of Virginia Beach; a brother, Robert Joynes of Florida; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel F. Craig and Lawrence B. Joynes, and a son, Thomas Joynes.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
