WILLIAM L. CHERRY

William Lee ``Cherry'' Cherry, 53, of the 1200 block of Rosemont Court, died Feb. 24, 1997, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Ella L. Cherry and James Cherry.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred (LaBarbara) Whitaker of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Deborah (Debbie) Williams of Norfolk; a son, Mr. Arthur (Tony) Anthony of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Harris Woodberry, Mrs. Dorothy Fentress, both of Norfolk; a brother, Mr. Elias Cherry of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Bernard Whitaker and Jeffrey Williams; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Anthony; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in the Way of Truth COGIC, Norfolk, by the Rev. Wilbert McNair. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services Inc. for visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The family will be at the home of Caroline Harris Woodberry at 848 Smith St., Norfolk.
