The Norfolk State Spartans won their first game against a Division I opponent this season in dramatic style, scoring six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to stun Liberty 10-9 at the Marty Miller Complex.
Eric Jamerson hit a one-out sacrifice fly, scoring Edward McInnins to complete the rally and give the Spartans (3-8) their first win at their new baseball facility.
Khalil Hensley had 3 RBIs, two coming on a single in the ninth to keep the rally going. John Defere added 2RBis on 2-of-4 hitting.
The Spartans will play an opponent to be determined Thursday at the Florida A&M Spring Carnival in Tallahassee, Fla.
