JOSEPH P. PORTER

Joseph Peter Porter, 75, of the 1800 block of Rosemary Lane, died March 3, 1997, in Hampton Veterans Hospital.

A retired body shop foreman for Action Oldsmobile, Mr. Porter was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and a member of the Jolliff Ruritan Club. He was a Norfolk County native and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Porter; daughter, Debra Kay Obriecht of Chicago; son, David Lee Porter of Ladysmith, Va.; three sisters, Peggy Snyder, Ellen Koolman, both of Chesapeake, and Rose Horton of Florida; brother, Fitzhugh Porter of Chesapeake; five grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland, by the Rev. Terry Riddle. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Grove Park Baptist Church parking lot fund. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
