Clementine Coble O'Shields, 86, of Prospect Parkway died March 2, 1997, in Chesapeake.
A resident of Cradock since 1918, she retired from the banking industry in 1976. She was born in Burlington, N.C. She was the widow of Augustus B. O'Shields and was a charter member of Cradock United Methodist Church. She loved and was active in local politics for many years. She worked in the Cradock School System for many years as an assistant librarian and substitute teacher. After retiring she worked for Lawrence Pharmacy part time.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia O'Shields Lewis of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Kathryn Lewis Vann, Michael Barry Lewis and Van Thomas Lewis, all of Chesapeake; two great-grandchildren, Michael Thomas Cain Lewis and Kristin Marie Lewis.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Paul D. Moore. The family will receive friends in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
