Hazel A. Woodward, 92, died March 5, 1997, following a long illness.
Mrs. Woodward was born Dec. 19, 1904, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Amelia and Lester McCracken. She lived there all her life until moving to Virginia in 1983. Having graduated from Kent State University, she was a retired teacher from Youngstown public schools. She was married to Ralph P. Woodward, now deceased, who was an active and well-known educator in Ohio.
Survivors of Mrs. Woodward include her daughter, Sally A. Moore of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Susan K. Abshire of Marietta, Ga., Stacy A. Castro of Fairfax, Va., James A. Moore and Stephany C. Moore, both of Virginia Beach. She also leaves two great-grandchildren, Grace E. Abshire and Felix J. Castro.
A memorial service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Clark L. Mandigo. Burial will be private. The family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
