ANNIE D. BLAY

Annie Delfenthal Blay, 78, of the 300 block of Wingfield Ave., passed away March 6, 1997, in a local nursing home.

Annie was the daughter of the late John Herman and Margaret Justice Delfenthal. She was born in Skippers, Va., and was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Bruce and Raymond Delfenthal.

Annie was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Berkley Chapter No. 52 Order of Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranthe Court, Ladies of the Scottish Rite, Social Order of the Beauceant and Mace Court No. 9.

Survivors include her husband, Jose Blay; three sons, John H. Mills and his wife, Carol, and R. Leon Mills and his wife, Faye, of Chesapeake, and Jose G. Blay and his wife, Maria Eugenia, of the Republic of Panama; two sisters, Helen Wrenn and her husband, Robert, of Emporia, and Louise Rookus and her husband, Bill, of Virginia Beach; four brothers, George Delfenthal and his wife, Ruth, of Belton, Mo., Joseph Delfenthal and his wife, Elizabeth, of Smithfield, Rudolph Delfenthal and his wife, Eva Mae, of Tyner, N.C., and Thomas Delfenthal and his wife, Roslie, of Knott's Island, N.C. Annie also is survived by four granddaughters, Lisa White and her husband, Keith, Janice Morse and her husband, Darrell, Susan Hedrick and her husband, Michael, all of Chesapeake, and Michelle Marie Blay of the Republic of Panama. She also had four great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. William F. Mahon and Chaplain Kenneth Askew with Eastern Star rites. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home and at other times at her home at 300 Wingfield Ave. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
