STEPHEN B. BREWER

Navy DP3 Stephen John Brown Brewer, 21, died March 2, 1997, in Guam.

He attended Carter Jr. High School and Sam Houston High School, grades 7th through 11th in Arlington, Texas. He was a 1994 graduate of Floyd E. Kellam High School, Virginia Beach. Stephen entered the U.S. Navy in June of 1994 when he went to basic training in Great Lakes, Ill. He then was assigned to the USS Frank Cable (AS40) in Charleston, S.C., which was his home port during his time in Guam, where he excelled.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Claudine B. Duff; stepfather, Donald D. Duff Sr.; two stepsisters, Ms. Latisha N. Brewer, Ms. Danielle D. Duff; a brother, Donald D. Duff Jr., all of Virginia Beach; grandparents, Joe and Maria Daniels of Daytona Beach, Fla., Charles and Mary Duff of Bristol, Tenn., Calvin and Marva Dawe of East Orange, N.J., Jean Smith of Staten Island, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A funeral was conducted Monday in Lee St. Baptist Church, Bristol, Va., by Dr. Willis A. Johnson. Interment is in National Cemetery, Mount Home, Tenn., where military honors by the Naval and Marine Corps were accorded. Robinson Mortuary Inc., Bristol, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
