Walter Hill Jr., 56, of the 1300 block of Johnston Road, died Sunday, March 9, 1997, peacefully at his residence.
A drywall mechanic and interior specialist for Laborer's District Council of Virginia and Mason Tenders Union Local 388, LLU 307, he was a native of Norfolk and the oldest of five children born to Walter Sr. and Reeva White Hill. He was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member of Booker T. Washington Class of 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Agustine D. Hill of the home; three daughters, Felecia Glenn, Maryum Peterson and Gale Carney; two sons, Joseph R. Selden and Kervin Harps; sisters, Edna H. Yates (Thomas B.), Audrey Hill and Patricia Powell (Dwight); brother, Jess M. Hill; four grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fenton Royle, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday, March 15, 1997, in Riddick Funeral Service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
