CHARLIE T. DIXON

Charlie Thomas (C.T.) Dixon Sr., 88, of the 100 block of Greenhall Road, died Tuesday March 11, 1997, in Chowan Hospital.

Mr. Dixon was a native of Pitt County and a son of the late Oliver Jarvis and Sally Ann Moore Dixon. Mr. Dixon and his late wife, Lillie Hare Dixon, were married 67 years. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, owner/operator of the Hancock Station for 56 years, and Farm Bureau dealer for many years.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Clara D. and Wallace Peele of Edenton; two sons and their wives, C.T. Jr. and Jackie Dixon of Edenton, Richard and Dianne Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.; his sister, Ruby Mayo of Greenville. There are eight grandchildren: Ted Peele, Scott Peele, Sallie P. Chappell, Marsha D. Gregory, Randy Dixon, Teresa D. Bateman, Robin Amick and Todd Dixon; 10 great-grandchildren, Quenton and Courtney Peele, Brandi and Luke Peele, Roxanne and Chloe Chappell, Jennifer Gregory, Kimberly Bateman, Mitchell Dixon and Logan Amick. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by a son, Malcolm Dixon, and a grandson, Dean Peele.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Young and the Rev. Ron Cava. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence of C.T. Dixon Jr., 2016 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton.
